About the Event
Awakin gatherings started when three friends got together in 1996 to sit in silence, every Wednesday, in an ordinary living room in Silicon Valley. No teachers or gurus. No set agendas or proposed beliefs either. Just one strong principle -when you change within, the world changes. And instead of closing the door, they left it open ... to all.
Today, Awakin Circles have organically rippled to eighty cities around the globe. People meditate for the first hour, engage in a circle of reflective sharing in the second hour, and conclude the night by receiving a delicious home-cooked meal. A palpable sense of gratitude and community weaves through it all. The ripples of inner transformation are countless - and continue on.
Every month we come together to sit in silence for an hour, share some aha-moments for the second hour and often have a light meal afterwards. There are no teachers, or agendas. Inspired by many others, who have done this for decades, Awakin Circles offer a space to come together and share in a context of stillness, community and service.
Join us at our Awakin circles and discover nourishment, peace and sense of community.
Flow of the Event
7:00PM: arrive and get settled in.
7:30PM: an hour of collective silence; where we listen to ourselves. It's unguided, without any instructions or music.
8:30PM: a short reading (sent out earlier via email), followed by a circle of sharing of "aha" moments from everyday life. This is an opportunity to listen deeply to others. Sharing is optional and if you'd rather continue to bless the space with your silence and deep listening, that is totally fine too.
9.15PM: vegan community co-created dinner and socialising. If you feel moved to contribute to the community vegan potluck dinner, you can do so by bringing along a main dish, side dish, dessert or drink of your choice-this is an invitation and not an expectation.
9.45PM: home time.
